Tania has been a lifelong resident in Bankstown and continues to live in the Bankstown community with her husband Alex and three young children.
Graduating from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Economics and later a Bachelor of Law, Tania has worked in the areas of marketing, public policy, human rights, Industrial Relations and the construction and infrastructure industry.
Since being elected to Bankstown City Council in 2004, and in her former capacity as Mayor of Bankstown City Council, Tania had the privilege to come to know and work with the many community, cultural, sporting groups and associations, service clubs, registered clubs and businesses in Bankstown.
Tania was elected to Parliament as the State Member for Bankstown in 2011 and is committed to ensuring that Bankstown receives a fair share of resources at the State level, including upgraded road and rail infrastructure, more frequent, reliable and accessible public transport services, and improved access to critical services such as quality healthcare, education and housing.
Tania is currently the NSW Opposition’s Shadow Minister for Family and Community Services, Shadow Minister for Social Housing, Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Shadow Minister for Medical Research, and has previously served as the Shadow Minister for Fair Trading, Shadow Minister for Healthy Lifestyles, Shadow Minister for Youth and Shadow Minister for Volunteering.
Tania is also a member of the parliamentary ICAC Committee, having previous been a member of the Legislation Review Committee, Transport and Infrastructure Committee, and the Select Committee on the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry.
